The State congratulated President Elias El Murr, Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of Interior and Defense, on the occasion of Easter for the Lebanese people in general and the Orthodox in particular, wishing them better days filled with security, stability, and prosperity.

Deputy Michel El Murr wrote via his "X" account: "May your resurrection, O Lord, be a living sign of Lebanon's resurrection and its people's return to the life they deserve."

After thousands of Orthodox Christians participated in the Holy Fire ceremony, where the holy light overflowed from the tomb of Jesus Christ inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Holy Flame reached Lebanon.

In the Lebanese interior, the situation in the South remains tense, with the displacement issue dominating. Comments on the European visit are intensifying. Leader of the "Free Patriotic Movement," MP Gebran Bassil, affirmed that "Lebanon's land and people are not for sale or rent. You can buy or volunteer some officials, but our people and our land are not." Mikati asked: "How will the money be distributed within the one billion euros?" and said, "How do you accept one billion euros over four years? You are cheap to this extent."

In response to critics, President Najib Mikati pointed out that "talk of European bribery to Lebanon to keep the displaced on its land is not true, confirming that this grant is not conditional at all and is approved by the Lebanese according to the usual procedures for accepting grants." He considered it "a malicious attempt to undermine any governmental solution, under false pretenses and accusations."

To stop the ongoing political exploitation in the country on this issue, Mikati wished Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri to call for a general parliamentary session to discuss the refugee issue.

Regionally, a Hamas delegation, along with Qatari and American officials, arrived in Cairo to participate in ceasefire negotiations and prisoner exchanges, while Israel refused to send its delegation before Hamas responded and reiterated its refusal to end the war on Gaza.

In this context, Israeli media quoted sources as saying that Washington is pressuring Israel to send a delegation to Cairo, but Netanyahu refuses to wait for Hamas's response.

The Israeli interior witnessed a demonstration by thousands of Israelis at about 70 locations demanding the release of detainees in Gaza and holding early elections, while Israeli opposition accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of attempting to sabotage the prisoner exchange deal with Hamas.

As part of a broader Qatari review of its role as a mediator in the war between Israel and Hamas, Qatar announced that it might close Hamas's political office in Qatar.

Meanwhile, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met his Iranian counterpart Hussein Amir Abdullahian on the sidelines of the Islamic summit held in Gambia, discussing the situation in Gaza and developments in the region. Bin Farhan stressed the urgent and permanent need to cease fire in Gaza and provide safe humanitarian corridors to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Internationally, the Director-General of the World Health Organization warned on Friday that an Israeli military attack on Rafah city in southern Gaza "could lead to a bloodbath," calling for an end to the ceasefire.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken reiterated his warnings of a major Israeli attack on the densely populated city of Rafah in southern Gaza, saying that Israel has not provided a plan to protect civilians. He added, "In the absence of such a plan, we cannot support a large-scale military operation in Rafah, as the damage it would cause exceeds acceptable limits."

Protests against the Israeli war on Gaza continued in many American universities, and while university administrations insisted on the need to disperse the protests, Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson proposed revoking visas for foreign students participating in the demonstrations.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova saw the military exercises conducted by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) over four months near Russia's borders as evidence that the alliance is preparing for a potential conflict with Russia.

Russia issued a search warrant for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky without disclosing its motives, according to a notice published today on the Ministry of Interior's website. The concise text stated that the Ukrainian president is wanted "under a provision of the criminal law," without providing further details.

Economically, the President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, John Williams, stated that "only the inflation rate targeted by the US Federal Reserve, which is 2 percent, is acceptable."

Williams pointed out that "achieving this goal is crucial to achieving price stability in the United States."
