The government session was disrupted by the retired military personnel's movement, who staged a sit-in in downtown Beirut and blocked the roads leading to the government palace. President Najib Mikati announced the session to be held next week, stating: "Yesterday, we had reached with all parties, including active-duty military personnel, public sector employees, and a large portion of retirees, an acceptable solution for everyone, which I was going to present to the cabinet. Unfortunately, today we were surprised by the negativity in the streets."

He warned that "if the doors of the Ministry of Finance are not opened quickly, we will not be able to secure salaries at the end of the month due to the absence of employees, despite having the necessary funds for salaries."

In the south, the border front continues to witness intensified Israeli attacks, with Israeli aircraft carrying out a series of airstrikes targeting the depth of border towns. In return, Hezbollah announced targeting Israeli sites.

On another front, Israeli threats against Lebanon persisted, with Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz stating: "We will not tolerate any longer for a diplomatic solution on the Lebanese front."

He added: "The Security Council must also call on the Lebanese government to implement council resolutions, bear responsibility, prevent attacks from its territory against Israel, and ensure the area up to the Litani River is free of military presence, assets, or weapons."

Similarly, on another note, the Syrian government sent an official memorandum to the Lebanese government regarding the towers scattered along the border, considering the towers established by the British for the Lebanese Army's border regiments on the Syrian border as a "threat to Syrian national security."

Separately, the Lebanese Army received 3 hovercrafts and 4 fast boats as a gift from the United States. Army Commander Joseph Aoun affirmed that the gift would enhance the capabilities and development of the naval forces, assisting them in executing assigned missions amidst the challenges they face. He emphasized that the gift "underscores the continued support of the American authorities, as well as other friendly countries and armies, demonstrating their commitment to Lebanon's security and stability amid consecutive political, economic, and social crises, as well as the ongoing war in the south and its dangerous repercussions on all of Lebanon."

Regionally, the Israeli army continued its aggression on Gaza for the 140th day of the war, while talks began in Paris to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and discuss a prisoner and detainee exchange deal. Israeli officials' statements about their readiness to invade Rafah have increased.

After Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented a document of principles regarding the post-war policy on Gaza, including Israel's retention of operational freedom throughout Gaza without a time limit, establishing a security zone in the sector adjacent to Israeli towns, and maintaining Israel's southern closure on the border between Gaza and Egypt, as well as closing UNRWA and replacing it with other international relief agencies, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry expressed strong rejection of what the Israeli media termed "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's principles for the day after the war," considering it an official recognition of the reoccupation of the sector.

Moreover, the Palestinian factions announced their agreement to form a government to rebuild Gaza and prepare for elections.

On the other hand, the Houthis threatened to completely close the Bab el-Mandeb strait. Additionally, the US Army destroyed drones and cruise missiles belonging to the Houthi group in Yemen and the Red Sea, after determining that they posed an imminent threat to commercial and US naval ships.

Internationally, the United States expressed disappointment with Israel's announcement of plans to build 3,000 housing units in the occupied West Bank settlements.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, from Argentina, said: "We regret the Israeli government's announcement of its intention to build thousands of settlement units." He added that "the United States believes that settlements are inconsistent with international law and do not contribute to achieving peace. They only weaken Israel's security and do not strengthen it."

Meanwhile, the French Foreign Ministry stated its openness to recognizing a Palestinian state "provided that it is the outcome of negotiations."

The French Foreign Ministry said, "The Palestinian state that must be established must be viable and must be on contiguous land, with the presence of a Palestinian authority that must be reactivated."

In Russia, President Vladimir Putin announced the modernization of 95% of Russia's strategic nuclear forces, noting that the Air Force had just received 4 new hypersonic missile carriers capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
