As the Arab International Quintet intensifies efforts around the presidential election, the situation in the south remains heated. Israeli attacks persist on southern areas and towns. Recently, Ramya and Ayta al-Shaab were targeted, along with the western outskirts of Mays al-Jabal, specifically the Ras al-Zaher neighborhood. Mount Balaat was also hit, targeting a transmission column. Israeli warplanes conducted airstrikes after 6 PM in Wadi al-Saluqi. Additionally, a rocket was launched at a residential room within an agricultural project in the vicinity of Abl al-Qamh near the town of al-Wazzani, causing no injuries. Around 6:30 PM, Israeli airstrikes targeted a house in Majdal Salim, resulting in one fatality and three injuries. Towns like Ramya, Ayta al-Shaab, Tayr Harfa, and al-Jibin were subjected to artillery bombardment.
In contrast, Hezbollah announced the execution of operations against the Israeli army.

In the same context, the official spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, Matthew Miller, stated that the United States continues to explore all diplomatic options with both Israeli and Lebanese parties to restore calm and avoid escalation. Miller emphasized the U.S. commitment to a diplomatic solution allowing Israeli and Lebanese civilians to return to their homes along the border.

Defense Minister Ya'akov Galant, during a meeting with his French counterpart Sébastien Le Cornu, asserted that a war with Hezbollah would be harsh for Israel, destructive for the party and Lebanon. He affirmed that even if Hezbollah halts its operations, Israel won't cease until the security situation on the northern border changes.

Away from the field and diplomacy, the educational dilemma has been resolved, and tomorrow is declared a regular teaching day.

On the presidential front, Qatari envoy Jassem Al Thani "Abu Fahd" arrived in Beirut to initiate efforts to facilitate the presidential process.

Regionally, on the 108th day of the Israeli-Gaza war, Khan Yunis witnessed intense shelling and fierce clashes between Palestinian factions and the Israeli army.

The Israeli military reported the deaths of three officers, two majors, and one captain, with three soldiers sustaining serious injuries.

Regarding a proposed alternative for Palestinians, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid suggested the concept of an industrial island during a meeting with European counterparts.

On the issue of prisoner negotiations, while Hamas mentioned ongoing talks, families of Israeli captives in Gaza reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed them there is no suitable deal related to releasing detainees held by Hamas.

Reports on an Israeli initiative for a deal with Hamas outline key points, including the release of non-military hostages, an undefined long-term ceasefire, tactical withdrawal of the Israeli army from several areas in Gaza, and the release of Palestinian prisoners without specifying the number.

Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi criticized the "racially extreme agenda" of the Israeli government, challenging the world by rejecting the two-state solution to end the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis.

Concerning Houthi attacks on Red Sea ships, the Houthis claimed an attack on the U.S. military cargo ship "Ocean Jazz" in the Gulf of Aden.

Internationally, during an EU foreign ministers meeting discussing a new peace plan, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell stated that Israel's approach to destroying Hamas is misguided. The Belgian Foreign Minister affirmed that the Gaza conflict will not be resolved with weapons.

Irish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Michael Martin announced that Ireland is considering joining the case against Israel for genocide in the International Court of Justice.

Martin emphasized the current priority is a ceasefire, unconditional hostage release, and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. He stressed that the situation in Gaza is tragic, and there's no excuse for delaying aid delivery.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Treasury Department imposed economic sanctions on the low-cost Iraqi airline Fly Baghdad and its CEO for allegedly assisting the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

Britain and the United States also announced new sanctions on five individuals and a key entity involved in financing Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
