It appears that the escalation along the southern Lebanese border and the region is on the rise, with Israel intensifying its artillery shelling. The Israeli airstrikes targeted several southern areas, including Ayta ash Shab, Ad-Dahira, Yarin, Tair Harfa, Al-Jubayn, Shiheen, Hula, Mahallat al-'Amr - Al-Wazani, Khirbet Dayr Mimas towards At-Tayyibah, Yaroun, Wadi As-Saluqi, and Maroun ar-Ras.
In response, Hezbollah retaliated against the Israeli attacks by targeting multiple sites, including Al-Manara colony, the vicinity of the Monk's site, the vicinity of Ruwaysat Al-'Ilm, Tell Sha'r, and the vicinity of the Abbad site, achieving direct hits with appropriate weaponry.

In Gaza, the Ministry of Health announced an increase in the casualties of Israeli attacks to 24,448 killed and 61,504 injured since October 7, 2023. The ministry reported 16 Israeli military massacres within 24 hours, resulting in 163 deaths and 350 injuries. Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh emphasized the pervasive scent of blood in Gaza, stressing that those using veto against ending the aggression are complicit.

Meanwhile, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives announced a grant of AED 43 million ($11.7 million) to provide direct food support to Gaza's residents in collaboration with the World Food Programme. This announcement brings the total support from the Initiatives to the World Food Programme to AED 230 million (over $62.6 million) since the collaboration began in 2021.

 


Iraq submitted two complaints to the UN Security Council and the United Nations against Iran following the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's shelling of sites near Erbil in northern Iraq. Iran's Foreign Minister, Hussein Amirabdollahian, at the Davos Forum, stated Tehran's respect for the sovereignty of Iraq and Pakistan, while emphasizing that Iran would not allow anyone to threaten its national security.
Simultaneously, the Arab League held an emergency session to discuss the Iranian attack on Erbil, condemning it unequivocally.

He added, "There is something very interesting. The five permanent members of the Security Council today have much less influence... Today, medium-sized countries have a greater impact than major powers on what is happening in the world."

 


In a notable move, British police announced that specialized officers would investigate the possibility of opening an investigation into Israel for committing war crimes in Gaza. Meanwhile, the British Maritime Trade Operations received a report of an incident 60 nautical miles southeast of Aden in Yemen, stating that a ship's captain reported being targeted by a drone.

 

French President Emmanuel Macron warned that Israel's continued precision military operations in the Gaza Strip pose a long-term threat to its security. Macron stated, "I say this because it is in Israel's security interest in the long term, while continuing operations as it does now poses a risk in the long term, given what it leaves in the entire region on the security of Israel itself."
