Rocket Debris Lands in Ocean

According to Chinese state media, parts of China's rocket have landed in the Indian Ocean, with most of its components destroyed upon re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere. The Long March, launched last week, was the second deployment of the 5B variant since its maiden flight in May 2020.

Syria's Homs Refinery Fire

A fire erupted in Syria's main Homs refinery in the west of the nation due to a leak in a pumping station on Sunday. Syrian state television showed live footage of fire engulfing parts of the refinery with black smoke plumes in the distance.

Jerusalem Clashes

As tens of thousands of worshippers prayed at Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Muslim holy night of Laylat al-Qadr, clashes erupted on Saturday between Palestinian protesters and Israeli police outside Jerusalem's Old City. The Palestine Red Crescent said, at least 53 people were injured.

India COVID-19 Crisis

For the second consecutive day, India's Covid-19 deaths rose by more than 4,000 on Sunday. The country recorded more than 400,000 new infection cases over the past 24 hours. Calls for a nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of the virus have mounted.

Afghan School Blast

Multiple blasts near a school in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Saturday killed at least 58 people and injured 150 others. Families of the victims blamed the Afghan government and Western powers for failing to put an end to violence.
