10 Houthi Drones Destroyed

The Saudi-led coalition involved in Yemen destroyed 10 armed drones launched by the Houthi movement, including five targeted towards Saudi Arabia. The coalition said the drones were aimed at civilian sites. The Houthis have recently stepped up cross-border missile and drone attacks on the country.

Trump Sends Notice...

Former US President Donald Trump reportedly demanded three Republican groups to stop using his name and likeness for fundraising. An adviser of the former president said Trump's lawyers sent cease-and-desist letters to the groups. He also said Trump is sensitive to the use of his name and likeness for branding purposes.

South Korea-US Military Drill

South Korea and the United States will conduct their springtime military exercise as of Monday. The drills will be smaller than usual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They will not be including outdoor maneuvers and the number of troops and equipment will be minimized.

Afghan Peace Process

According to diplomatic and political sources, the US envoy for peace in Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, proposed a reorganization of the Afghan peace process this week, but his plan faced objection by the warring sides. Sources said two of the envoy’s main proposals were an interim government and a conference of key representatives.
