NZ and Australia Vaccination Drive
New Zealand began its vaccination drive against COVID-19 today, administering the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, while Australia will begin vaccinations on Monday. Both countries have kept the virus widely contained. According to officials, no new COVID-19 cases were reported in both countries in the last 24 hours.

 

Russia Approves Third Vaccine 
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced Russia has approved its third coronavirus vaccine for domestic use, although large-scale clinical trials of the CoviVac shot have yet to begin. “Today, Russia is the only country to have already three vaccines against COVID-19,” the prime minister added in a statement.

 

Spain: Clashes in Protests
In the fourth night of clashes after Spanish rapper Pablo Hasel was jailed, police detained protesters who threw stones at officers and neighbors on Friday. Hasel was sentenced to 9 months in prison for his controversial songs and Tweets. The sentence has sparked days of protests across Spain over freedom of expression.

 

Argentine PM Quits
Argentina's Minister of Health, Gines Gonzalez Garcia, quit on Friday following reports that people sidestepped regular procedures to get the COVID-19 vaccine using connections. A journalist claimed he had received the shot after speaking directly with the minister.
