Sex Crime Suspect Extradited 

Following an order by the Israeli Supreme Court, Malka Leifer, a former Australian school principal accused of sexually assaulting students, was extradited to Australia on Monday. The case has been in Israeli courts since 2014. Leifer is wanted by Australian police on 74 sexual assault charges, including rape.

 

France Considers Third Lockdown 

The COVID-19 situation in France has led the government to consider a third national lockdown. The head of France's HAS, Dominique Le Guludec, told France Inter radio that it is a 'worrying moment' and quick measures have to be taken. The average daily infections in France have escalated from 18,000 to more than 20,000.

 

UK Could Become 'A Failed State'

Former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown warned unless there's a reform the United Kingdom could quickly become a failed state, as many people are frustrated in the way the country is run. He added 'the United Kingdom must urgently rediscover what holds it together' and what drives it apart.

 

Dutch Protests Turn Violent 

As the government imposed tougher coronavirus restrictions, several Dutch cities have witnessed large anti-lockdown demonstrations. Police arrested more than 200 people on Sunday, as protests turned into violence. Vehicles were set on fire, stones were thrown at police and public properties were destroyed by rioters.
