The intensity of the confrontations between the two sides of the conflict, "Hezbollah" and Israel, increased today. In the context of the ongoing war in the south, Washington is seeking to broker a truce between Lebanon and Israel following the successful completion of the prisoner exchange deal in Gaza.

Domestically, the presidential file remains stagnant. The Maronite Patriarch, Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, stated, "We pray that politicians correct their path and decisions for the good of Lebanon." Similarly, the Metropolitan of Beirut and its dependencies for the Greek Orthodox, Bishop Elias Audi, called on the deputies to apply the constitution without evasion and to elect a president.

Regionally, after U.S. President Joe Biden stirred the stagnant waters concerning the prisoner exchange deal and the Gaza ceasefire with his announcement of a three-phase plan, the advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu considered Biden's plan not to be a good deal, though they are eager to secure the release of the hostages.

Simultaneously, the Israeli president pledged to support Netanyahu in implementing Biden's plan due to the Prime Minister facing threats of government dissolution if he approves Biden's plan regarding the Gaza ceasefire and prisoner exchange with Hamas.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated, "We will not accept Hamas's rule over the Gaza Strip in any operation to end the war." He added, "We will isolate areas, remove Hamas members, and bring in other forces to enable the formation of another government."

In a separate context, Egypt stressed the necessity of Israeli withdrawal from the Rafah crossing to resume its operation.

The UAE and Qatar confirmed their support for all serious initiatives and efforts aimed at de-escalating the situation in the region, protecting all civilian lives, and ending their suffering in the Gaza Strip. They also pushed for a clear political horizon for a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace based on the "two-state solution" that ensures regional security and stability.

In Iran, with two days remaining until the legal period for presidential candidacy registration ends ahead of the elections later this month, the list of candidates is expanding rapidly. Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad submitted his candidacy for the upcoming presidential elections.

Internationally, White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby confirmed that the United States expects Israel to agree to the Gaza war-ending deal if Hamas consents.

On another note, former U.S. President Donald Trump suggested that a prison sentence could be a "turning point" for his supporters. Trump warned that a prison sentence "would be hard for the public to accept."

Regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war, electricity was cut off in most parts of Ukraine due to widespread Russian attacks.

Additionally, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that NATO's latest move to strengthen its eastern borders aims to deter Russia, adding that Moscow should know the alliance is prepared to defend itself if necessary.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Defense Minister announced that Beijing is open to conducting military communications with the United States.

Economically, OPEC+ announced the extension of mandatory production cuts into 2025, specifying that the target production level for OPEC+ countries in 2025 is 39.752 million barrels per day.
