China's US Visa Restrictions

China has canceled visa exemptions for US diplomats visiting Hong Kong and Macau after the United States imposed sanctions on 14 Chinese officials on Monday.
Beijing will also impose sanctions on some US officials and personnel over their unpleasant behavior on issues relating to Hong Kong, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.

Brexit Weekend Deadline

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and European Union President Ursula von der Leyen have once again failed to reach a post-Brexit trade agreement after lively discussions last night. The parties have set until Sunday to resolve the unsettled issues. In a Tweet, von der Layen said, "We will come to a decision by the end of the weekend."

Female Journalist Killed

Malalai Maiwand, a female Afghan television journalist, was killed by gunmen in Afghanistan earlier today. Maiwand was shot dead along with her driver in an attack on their vehicle in Jalalabad. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Barcelona Suburb Blaze

A fierce fire broke out in an abandoned warehouse occupied by undocumented immigrants in Badalona, a Barcelona suburb, late Wednesday. At least two people were killed and 19 injured. Authorities told parts of the building had collapsed, making rescue efforts complicated. The fire was under control by early Thursday.
